If, as the article says, white students are three grades ahead on average, then behavior improves as the classwork begins to match ability. Perhaps one answer is more appropriate curriculum for all levels (differentiation), so that students won't be too bored (either because it's too easy or because it's too hard) to act out. But then I guess there would be articles criticizing MCPS for putting more minority students in remedial classes... [/quote]
