They see this as their moment and the one chance when they can push the party further into their camp. Its risky and a missed opportunity. If the democrats put up rationale, centrist candidates who can connect with voters they would have landslides across the country. In many areas, like Montgomery County they aren't doing this and are pushing progressive candidates that won't win.Hogan would lose if her democratic challenger was moderate. With Jealous, MD will continue to have a Republican governor. The far extreme's of either party get frustrated that they never get control. They tend to be more aggressive and will seize any chance but it often doesn't work out. It took the far right decades to take over the Republican party. [/quote]
