This is when being silent about which school is having the problem is counterproductive. Go to the school’s Reddit and post there about the specific dorm and you will see the school become much more proactive with all of the dorms and the cafeteria you don’t know about.
THIS, OP. How could you think that being silent is helpful. The school needs to be more than "nice" about it. They need to be accountable for it. Gross.
OP here. I think bashing a college based on one single experience is kind of awful. If it happened again, or if we had not had a great experience up until now and there were multiple issues, I might think differently. If you google "cockroaches in dorms", you'll see TONS of colleges (in cities and less urban areas) have dealt with this dorm bug issue (roaches and bedbugs and even rats and mice). I think that in our era of social media, we are quick to bash a company for a single error and we don't even realize how damaging it is. Companies make mistakes just like people do, and bashing them online is harsh if they try to remedy their mistake. The internet is a powerful way to deal with them if they don't try to remedy their mistake, but I think doing it up front is wrong. Just my personal opinion.
