OP here. Part of my struggle is that we aren't paying for room and board. He's on an athletic and an academic scholarship...so I can't do the whole "I am paying for room and board" thing, really...

So far, one more night has passed and zero roaches.  Hopefully it stays that way!

I am a little annoyed to find out that although we drove down there to talk to the residency office, another set of roommates (who we KNOW complained after us, whose sons are the same year as mine), was moved to a much, much better dorm.  I can only guess one of the moms was a little less "nice" about it than I was. Oh well. My kid seems to be over it and moved on, so I will too.  (Still, I cannot get the images out of my head and the first time he comes home for the weekend I swear I am going to treat him like he's coming home from a toxic waste dump. God, I hate bugs more than ANYTHING. Especially scurrying bugs...I dont care about spiders or bugs like that...)
