[/quote] I think the reason for choosing DA is a developmental one, or at least that was why we chose it. My DD complained that she wasn't getting better, and to be honest - as a soccer player myself - I had to agree with her. So DA at U13 is about playing in a competitive environment. Showcases don't matter for U13 because no one is - or should - be committing to colleges at that age. It's not a bad idea to attend some local tournaments that conform to DA standards so that players can practice at playing in those environments, but to travel all the way to FL or CA when your child is nowhere near that age is a waste of coin.
