With all the advertising about their world class education that prepares all graduates for top universities, this would be their time to boast. It is their second graduating class but unlike LATIN, all of these students have been at BASIS for 6 consecutive years.
Exactly, this is their platform. They boast about their superior level of education that prepares the surviving students for Ivies. So I am not sure why they are being mum.
Ugh so tired of this east coast obsession with Ivies. There are some incredible schools throughout the U.S. We have a kid in middle school at Basis, and nobody says one word about preparing for Ivies. That is not the message given to parents and students at all. What they do focus on is preparing for the work that you want to do and ultimately finding your individual interests and strengths, and the right college for you (and your family situation). I have no idea of the finances of the graduating seniors' families, but I can tell you overall this is not a school full of people with trust funds and super high incomes who don't have a single care about how to finance an education. Far from it. If a child's educational needs and interests are best served at an Ivy, and either the family can afford it or they get merit and financial aid to make it happen, then great. But there are many great universities, and lots of practical aspects to a college decision. I really dislike how people pick apart college choices for all the different schools' graduating seniors in this area. If you are comparing schools with ultra rich parents and legacy connections, that's one thing. But come on, people, most kids and families aren't in that situation, believe it or not. They are applying for scholarships and other financial aid and doing the best they can to make something work, hopefully at a college that will match their kid's interests. In fact, a kid may even be the first one in their family to attend college, so let's celebrate that.
