The problem is that we don't actually care about reducing child poverty meaningfully in the US, while it's a priority in every other rich country. Just look at how many ugly people on this forum argue against universal healthcare, living wages, and paid maternity leave. These things are directly tied to child poverty rates, but we want nothing of them as long as there's the tiny chance of becoming a billionaire. But stay in your shell.
