I respect the office and what it stands for but the person occupying said office has to earn my respect. Much of what has been directed, even before January, isn't right regardless of who the president is since they have yet to establish a record but it is, unfortunately, the norm with the political bigotry that exists in our nation.
The problem with Trump is that he has had decades to establish his record. I think people were hopeful that he would change after the swearing in. But he didn't and he won't.
And Obama had virtually none. Bottom line is that political bigotry seeks out what justifies it. As for me I didn't vote for Trump or Hillary but whoever won I still hoped that what they did would be successful for our nation as a whole. Oh, and no person entering office has a record tied to their presidency. Holding it suspect based on their history is one thing, drawing a conclusion before the fact is another.
I'm not sure what you mean. If you set aside the Russia stuff, the objection to Trump is his temperament, his character. At 70 and a public figure, it is known. So is Hillary's. Obama's temperament and character were less well known, but enough of him was seen during his campaign to know him.
