Not trying to start a holy war, but Ohio State is usually ranked higher than Miami of Ohio. I'm sure they are both fine schools.

I think it depends on what you're talking about. Yes, Ohio State is a great research institution and highly regarded for graduate schools.

Miami is fundamentally an undergraduate institution (yes, it has graduate programs, but it's known for being an undergraduate school). It's also the most selective public university in Ohio (or at least it was when I attended).

And, yes, JMU is far more comparable to Kent, Bowling Green or OU. GMU would be comparable to Columbus State.
