Truxton mom -- are you inbound for Langley? If so, how are there IB families on the waitlist given the school's early action status.
I am inbound for Walker-Jones but we would like to send DD to Langley with her friends. It seems like we have one of the worst numbers in the city :-) But I am still hopeful of getting in eventually. I think the IBs on the waitlist must have been post-lottery additions? I do know someone IB who matched elsewhere and then decided to add Langley after seeing all the friends who matched there.
That makes sense. IF you add post-lottery, early action doesn't apply. But if they have to create a new class to accommodate the IB students who did apply before round 1.
I don't think the guarantee holds if you don't apply in the initial lottery. Do folks think they will add a class?
I think they can get by with just two classrooms. 32 kids with guaranteed seats will attrition down to 28 over the summer, easily. However, DCPS may decide there is enough interest to add a class anyway, even though the guarantee is not forcing its hand. I think they will add it next year if not this year.
