Alison Moyet Aztec Camera my all time favorite - Split Enz btw - loved Tracks, was there with my best gay guy pal when it was still so VERY gay! great fun for a straight gal who didn't want to hook up
You made my day, PP! I was listening to the Enz's "Waiata" album the other day in the car! I was a member of the official "Frenz of the Enz" fan club. Bought stuff from fans in Australia and New Zealand and remember the long waits for records and posters to turn up via snail mail. Converted into Crowded House fandom when the Enz broke up and Crowded House emerged. I remember skipping out on work and going to wait for hours outside this bizarre venue in D.C. (no longer there) that I think used to be a roller rink but was used for concerts then (late 80s). Got to see Crowded House with Tim Finn in the lineup--the closest to seeing Split Enz I'd ever get, live, and it was here in D.C. Thanks for bringing it all back, PP. By the way -- took my DC to see Crowded House at Wolf Trap just a couple of years ago. So proud to see her singing along....
