These are kids who are already going at 6 because they miss the Sept 30 cutoff, barely. Red shirt months are July/August because those kids barely MAKE the cutoff and will be very young. My Aug 25 kid needed to be redshirted and was. My Nov 7 could absolutely go at 5 in terms of maturity and capability but misses cutoff by 5 weeks so has to go at 6 and will be among oldest in her class. [/quote]
