And my fear of sketchy waiters and waitress pulling a scam like this on me is why I've started writing CASH in the tip section instead of drawing a line through it.  I always leave a cash tip when eating out because I know that cc tips are taxed and being a server is hard enough without having your 20-25% tip taxed.  Especially when a portion of that tip is probably going to be split between bussers, runners, and the service bartender.

I would find out who bussed the table and compare the handwriting to that person.

Waitresses do not usually bus tables. I bet she has nothing to do with this and the bus person wrote the comment after pocketing a cash tip.[/quote]
