Give me a break.
Please show me where anyone said there's no racism. I'll wait.
When the ashburn colored school was tagged with slurs that was racism and nobody denies it. Nobody denies there is racism and it happens all the time. Saying this incident seems either faked or exaggerated isn't the same thing as saying racism doesn't exist.
People are desperately discrediting it because it says "reprint". That's it. There has been another example of this in the same area (see it above- in the tip line it says "tip citizens").
You and other posters are inventing stories (it's the bus boy! It's the NAACP) instead of allowing that this clearly could have happened in this intolerant political climate.
By the way, I've definitely seen reprint on top of a merchant copy's receipt. And I've also changed my handwriting mid sentence (as I posted above and you all ignored, conveniently).
You know the real reason you're busy trying to discredit the story- you don't want to admit how racist this country really is.
I am well aware of how racist this country is. Fake story don't do a thing to make people more aware- in fact, they do harm, because when they're discredited THAT is when people try to claim "See racism isn't real." You're free to think it's real. I happen to not. That does not mean I deny racism.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:If this happened at a Leesburg restaurant, I'd probably be more inclined to believe it because of the redneck to normal person ration, but in Ashburn? Nah. Ashburn is very multi-cultural.
*Puts on expert hat* The racist writing looks like a woman's handwriting and the numerical part looks like a man's handwriting.
And my fear of sketchy waiters and waitress pulling a scam like this on me is why I've started writing CASH in the tip section instead of drawing a line through it. I always leave a cash tip when eating out because I know that cc tips are taxed and being a server is hard enough without having your 20-25% tip taxed. Especially when a portion of that tip is probably going to be split between bussers, runners, and the service bartender.
I would find out who bussed the table and compare the handwriting to that person.
Waitresses do not usually bus tables. I bet she has nothing to do with this and the bus person wrote the comment after pocketing a cash tip.

What discrepancies? Feel free to provide links and outline your issues.
It's a reprint
The handwriting is obviously different in the numbers/sig the racist message
No date is pictured
It supposedly was posted right after it happened but the receipt is old and crumpled and faded
No name above credit card authorization line
Those are the things that set off my alarm bells.
Are you a handwriting expert? I think not. I often start out cursive and switch to print or vice versa.
The reprint could be explained easily- print one is customer copy, reprint is merchant copy.
Have you ever gotten a racist or sexist note? I have. I crumpled it up and cried. Then I smoothed it out and showed it to people. You want to be racist? Fine, but I'm going to out you for the scum that you are.
Doesn't seem like a hoax to me.

Phillips Thompson, the president of the local NAACP, posted the following message on Facebook Sunday: “I generally don't get to have too many quiet days being president of the local NAACP because I live in Loudoun County, Virginia and if it isn't the schools, county, towns or politicians, it's some knucklehead trying to prove a point … I do believe under the current political climate this is just the beginning. Can't even get a quiet day to watch football. Well the bell is rung, time to go into action.”

I know what you mean. These idiot devices that enable instant communication with people around the world! And access to news sites and shopping. While walking around! I ABSOLUTELY HATE THESE MIRACULOUS THINGS.

SCAM!!! SCAM!!!
Handwriting different is a real red flag. This kind of behavior really pisses me off.
Even if this truly happened, why does the waitress deserve $7,500? Can I post every time I am discriminated against as an Asian, even in my highly educated and professional work setting? Or by random strangers? Every time I am called something? Oooooh, I claim emotional distress and PTSD. Of course discrimination offends me, but I move on. I do not have people set up fundraising on my behalf.
