Oh, for pete's sake. You GET that a lot of evangelicalism's current Biblical interpretations are relatively new things, right? So many of the things that we grew up learning as Biblical fact are indeed MILES away from the early church belief. A lot of them are a product of the 1800's and 1900's. This is nothing new in the church. Throughout history we drift, and then course correct. We have whole Reformations.

So criticize Jen for her shilling, her fakery, her whatever, but don't assume she thinks she's got some special revelation because she started to ask questions about what she'd always been taught. Asking questions is a good thing. It's the one thing I respect her for, that she has been willing to ask questions and change her mind even when it wasn't easy, even when she lost friends, lost speaking gigs and book sales and all that. I feel bad for Sydney that she had to live with their non-affirming stance until she finally came out, but I'm glad that unlike many evangelical parents they said "Okay, we know our daughter. What we know doesn't match with what we were always taught. Let's learn more."[/quote]
