This tidbit about the iPhone led me to this article which makes it even more horrific. The father knowingly did this and the mother ignored her screaming child (she had an iPhone connection to the car and the girl had been screaming for some time before the police found the kids. While they were wearing coats, neither child had on a hat or gloves and the boy had no shoes or socks.
