It's sheer petulance. They know that their grandfathers could marry whenever they wanted to, treat their wives like slaves, and have other women on the side, no matter how unappealing they were. Life doesn't work that way anymore and they're mad. If they put half as much energy into bettering themselves that they do into complaining, they'd have no problem.
