My kids class has three (3) accepted; 2 waitlisted. (20910)
How do you know? My DS was accepted but is reluctant to tell others because he knows most did not get in. I don’t want to tell anyone for the same reason. I just assumed I would find out at the open house.
I am curious too -- did the school make some sort of announcement?
NP, but no. Parents talk, kids talk. Normally the outliers tend to gravitate towards each other so it's likely there is some sort of familiarity between the families. Open house will also answer those questions. When my kid got in, most of the kids had been together since K and the parents addressed the issue carefully and respectfully.
Sometimes teachers will tell you the number total that got in without using names and some parents are friends and talk. I think last year there was more talk than usual because everyone was sharing how their child got in the wait pool due to the mistaken letters. We did not find out until the open house who actually got in and it really hit home how random the whole thing can be. The few kid who did get in were top performers so no surprise there but there are easily 10 other kids in the grade at the same level as the kids who were admitted and their absence was jarring for DD.
