BE - Barnsley?
Anonymous wrote:I wouldn't assume those low scores are from trolls but we know that different centers have different average scores. They were rezoned that way so the rich kids are competing mostly with rich kids and Chevy Chase is much harder to get into than some other schools.
Maybe that PP who posted the low waitlist scores comes from a less wealthy catchment area and the child has perfect MAP scores and straight As.

Those two results seem a little low to be on the waitlist, bearing in mind there are many high achieving students in MCPS, and that the wait-lists are supposed to be small.
I hope they didn't make the same mistake as last year, and wait-listed all the rejections by mistake...
PP, you have to remember that there are trolls — and some of them are on CES and AP posts in DCUrbanmom forum. I’m sure someone feels like trolling on a Sunday night!

Also he has straight A’s, 99th Map-R, 93 Map-M, iIn-View all high 90s except the teachers forgot to give one subset of the test last year to the entire class, don’t know if that matters? Rocked every math benmark test as well. We love our local school so alls we’ll that ends well I guess.

Why confused? For the more competitive CES everyone who got in had 99th percentile national scores. MCPS scores varied.

How do you know? My DS was accepted but is reluctant to tell others because he knows most did not get in. I don’t want to tell anyone for the same reason. I just assumed I would find out at the open house.
I am curious too -- did the school make some sort of announcement?
NP, but no. Parents talk, kids talk. Normally the outliers tend to gravitate towards each other so it's likely there is some sort of familiarity between the families.
Open house will also answer those questions. When my kid got in, most of the kids had been together since K and the parents addressed the issue carefully and respectfully.
