NVA, Mclean, SYC, VDA, and Arlington are all going to be basically the same caliber of team whith FVU being a notch below if the core of their talent is coming from valor. Not that bad but not good enough to make the team consistently competitive with those I listed. Still, theyll be able to grab a few wins against teams like Arlington in local tourneys and league play because even those better teams are not dominant teams. 2013s have better talent.
How can a team with 3-5 players from Valor plus kids who didn’t make other teams be just a notch below? Especially when everyone is saying MV is a bad coach. Also, is 2013 better talent or more distributed? You have no way of comparing 2013 vs 2014, especially with the age change.
It looks like their admins are working overtime because I guess they decided to move up to Feb 1 after all.
The 2013s were mostly McLean, right? They were a group of girls that were already good and had played together already. 2014 FVU seems like it will be a mix of a few girls from many different teams coming together for the first time. It could work.
Seems to be working mostly for the 2012s. They came from at least six different clubs.
2012s are working for now. There is no future with FVU. It takes good coaching in the older age groups and not just good individual players.
Define “working”. They dominated last fall but everyone figured out the kickball in the spring. Having a solid year but it rests on kickball.
all these teams either play kickball, rely on one or two big athletic kids to beat everyone, or just plain lose. Poor midfield play is the hallmark of top girls teams in the DMV
