I'm an Asian female and don't support DEI.  Here's the thing - any policy suggesting someone should move forward based on their gender or race is not being sincere in consideration of merit.  Being prejudice to not support poor folks who aren't white amounts to the same sort of discrimination v white rich males.  It's not like the latter should not be considered automatically because they didn't work hard or have mastery over a subject just because they happen to be rich and white.  Merit is the only thing ever that should be focused on.  DEI is simply  reverse discrimination.  I don't want to be hired for any other reason than being good at what I do and working hard at that.  That's an insult for me to be hired based on DEI.  I happen to own my own business and will tell you that I get so many more advantages in my industry than a white male who has their own business that often I'm sad for them.  It's totally unfair to look at anything other than merit and when you talk about differences, you make differences.   [/quote]
