So both traditional liberals and conservatives are politically homeless these days. I'd venture to guess at least 60 percent of the country hates both parties.
As a liberal leftist I agree with this. The problem is that I don’t think there is much consensus between my core views (raising my taxes is ok with me if the money goes to helping others and not war / defense spending and no one should make decisions over my body) and traditional conservatives (constitution above all, anti choice, Russia and Communism bad in all instances, let’s spend more on war, taxes must be cut, and we need to balance the budget by cutting services to people).
Maybe we can agree that some programs designed to help people are either not working or inefficient? I’m ok with reevaluating but I’m not okay with letting a kid go hungry or not lending a helping hand to an older adult at risk of homelessness (and I do agree there has been too much silly language like “unhoused” rather than homeless or “pregnant people”. And I am also not okay with support for wars in cases where the US is not directly attacked (and that in those cases we attack the attacker NOT an uninvolved country like Iraq).
Do you still strongly believe that “no one should make decisions over my body” when it comes to vaccines? Or only when you want to be allowed to physically cut and rip apart a baby that’s growing in your womb?
Unless you were a government employee, no one forced you to get a vaccine shot. You can choose not to shop at that store or continue in that job, but there was never a time someone held you down and forced a jab on you.
It actually went a bit further than what you’re claiming. My company for example had one team working on one government project, so the entire company needed to get vaccines, even those who hadn’t heard of the government job, let alone worked on it. So can employers who want a safe workplace. Don't like it? Too bad. But falsely claiming that you were FORCED to get a shot is simply a lie. And suggesting falsely that the federal government forced you to get a shot is deplorable.

And let’s stop pretending it was demented Biden directing the country; Obama ran things from behind the curtain.
You cheered on the invasion of our country, demonized our police, and rammed through a truly weird transgender agenda in our public schools, which even my gay friends find really weird.

You are a conspiracy theorist. Not sure that counts as a 'traditional conservative.' l
DP. Perhaps.
But, then, we have discovered that nearly every EO Biden signed was done with an auto pen. Makes one question who was really making the decisions.
Biden - on more than one occasion - seemed clueless about the things he had signed.

I'm an Asian female and don't support DEI. Here's the thing - any policy suggesting someone should move forward based on their gender or race is not being sincere in consideration of merit. Being prejudice to not support poor folks who aren't white amounts to the same sort of discrimination v white rich males. It's not like the latter should not be considered automatically because they didn't work hard or have mastery over a subject just because they happen to be rich and white. Merit is the only thing ever that should be focused on. DEI is simply reverse discrimination. I don't want to be hired for any other reason than being good at what I do and working hard at that. That's an insult for me to be hired based on DEI. I happen to own my own business and will tell you that I get so many more advantages in my industry than a white male who has their own business that often I'm sad for them. It's totally unfair to look at anything other than merit and when you talk about differences, you make differences.

Oh how quickly we forget. Pepperidge Farms still remembers.
https://www.aafp.org/pubs/fpm/blogs/gettingpaid/entry/health_care_staff_vaccination.html
If you want to work at a hospital or nursing home or assisted care facility, without being vaccinated, you better find one that is not treating my family or your family. I would never bring my parent or child to a facility that didn't require vaccinations and neither would most other people and all of those facilities would go out of business.
That's absurd. As long as they dont have an active infection, they are not in any way threatening you. There are people who have life threatening reactions to vaccines and they do not deserve your condemnation. There are also communities like Mennonites who have religious objections to vaccines. We can't just discriminate against these people with disabilities or religious beliefs, for no reason other than the fact that the American left treats vaccines like a religion.
I do not have to take my family member to a healthcare facility in the middle of a pandemic or a measles outbreak if they don't require vaccinations.
Go ahead and run such a facility and see if you can stay in business. Who is going to take their patients for care to such a place?
Unless you live in a big city, you don't really have a choice. Most people are stuck with one hospital within reasonable driving distance. They don't have Sloan-Kettering, Mount Sinai, and multiple university hospitals within walking distance.

Progressives can only win in the deepest blue areas yet they think they can push their luck with the rest of the country. Overall both sides have sucked at governing. Whenever Democrats have been in charge they have failed to lock in vital policies, like protecting social security, Roe, voting rights, fixing gerrymandering, campaign finance reforms, needed immigration reforms, healthcare, wages, housing, worker and consumer protections, and so on while making government more solvent by ending tax cuts for billionaires, eliminating loopholes, offshoring and other dodges. They completely suck at messaging, they lack the short pithy soundbites and are inconsistent and incoherent and uncoordinated. They need to focus on messaging, and they need to put together a strong, coherent legislative agenda that will hit like a blitzkrieg to undo years of bad GOP policy and fix all of these things.
