I don't have any moral feelings about abortion. I'm very pro choice and feel that option should be open to women who want and need it. But it does sound like in this case, she was coerced into it by someone who did not love her the way she loved him. And then the whole thing with JT ended up sending her down a really dark path.

She portrays herself as very passive and reactive in nearly every way up until this point in the book. I don't know if she sees herself that way - but it's hard not to view her as always feeling like things are happening to her, rather than her making things happen.

I also don't know if she was unwell before JT betrayed her. The book feels as if she was great, then he hurt her, then she sort of got out of control. But I don't know if that's actually the case.

In any case, this is a very sad book. The moments where she seems to be enjoying herself and having fun are lovely - and the rest of it is very difficult.[/quote]
