Sorry, you're totally incorrect. Yes, everyone must abide by pre-existing DC rules on WI Avenue. But there are many places on that street where people can -- and do -- drop off or pick up all kinds of people. So, we agree -- follow DC law. What DC MAY NOT do is do anything to restrict the GDS community from dropping off their kids in lawful places on WI now. That is absolutely not legal -- you can't target one group of people in light of all of the similar activity already happening. So if DC wants to ban all drop offs and pick ups anywhere on WI Avenue, that might happen. But then the residents near the school will have to live with those same restrictions. Anyway, I just want to get the principle out there. This is a super easy lawsuit. It is based on a foundational principle that is very important -- no government can target a community for no valid reason. No government can arbitrarily restrict access to busy streets just because their leaders like or do not like a particular community. That isn't going to happen here, I promise.
I think the PP wants to say rush hour parking restrictions also restrict stopping, which is false. Stopping, Standing and Parking are three different things. The rush hour restrictions specifically only apply to Parking and Standing, not Stopping.
