I would think most Duke students applying to law school are not in-state Virginia.  In other words, they are likely going elsewhere and you are only counting one data point.

But the median student isn't applying to law school.  The students getting in have 178 LSAT scores and well over a 3.7. The point being made is that it is easier to get into UVA Law (no. 6-8 law school, depending upon year) from UVA than getting into Duke Law from Duke.  Also at $60K per year, UVA is a much better deal than $103K to Duke[/quote]

You are misreading it.  These are the stats of the students who are applying to law school (and have their scores reported by LSAC).  I'm also not sure why you would conclude that it is easier to get into UVA Law from UVA than Duke.  We don't really know that without other data.  Another logical explanation is simply that more UVA students apply to UVA Law than Duke students.  [/quote]
