Agree that it's really disturbing.  MCPS says it's putting these turf fields in, for the sake of 'equity'.  But, seems poorly intentioned to me.  Why are we putting our young athletes at risk?  Just so that they don't have a few rained out games?

Tire crumbs are no longer being used for turf field infills. They now use natural stones mines from California. The old tire crumb infill is what caused cancer and retain heat. So, all of your concerns about cancer and excessive heat no longer applies!!  Whitman, Einstein and Julius West use the natural stone infills now. [/quote]
