Outdated information. MCPS is not using the same infill at Julius West as was used at the SoccerPlex. SoccerPlex is an AstroTurf field, not SpinTurf.

So many over crowded schools and we are taking money from MSI for rubber fields on school grounds? Pretty pathetic.
I don't understand the connection you're making between overcrowded schools and taking money from MSI for fields. MSI is not offering money to build additional classrooms, larger schools or new schools (to relieve overcrowding). But field construction and maintenance does come out of the CIP budget, I think. So taking money from MSI for fields results in more County and State money for other construction projects to relieve overcrowding, no? But that doesn't seem to be the point you're making. Your point seems to be that somehow taking money from MSI for fields makes it harder to address over crowded schools? I don't get it.
No. Julius West Middle School was never in the CIP for two or even one artificial turf field. This was not a "need" for MCPS. MSI Soccer spending money on their own want does nothing to help the MCPS budget.
MSI Soccer needs to sign a MOU with MCPS, they have not done that.
There is also one between MCPS and MSI. Keep up!
The MOU is between MCPS and Rockville.

Wow I hadn’t heard of this. It’s really disturbing.

Agree that it's really disturbing. MCPS says it's putting these turf fields in, for the sake of 'equity'. But, seems poorly intentioned to me. Why are we putting our young athletes at risk? Just so that they don't have a few rained out games?

They are planning to install turf fields at all High Schools.
