While the 05 Spirit have lost a number of games, their results are improving over time. Appears their development strategy is starting to take hold. And no, my kid doesn’t play for them nor am I a coach for them.

It’s too bad area’s ECNL, DA, and top EDP teams don’t play each other. I’d like to see an 05G DC metro round robin with Bethesda ECNL, Pipeline/Wash. Spirit-MD, Montgomery Rush Coyotes, McLean ECNL, VDA ECNL, FCV DA, and Wash. Spirit VA DA. Loudoun and BRYC in this age and gender are not very good, so they sit this one out. Two groups of 4. Play each other twice, home and away. Then take top 2 and play finals. Call it the Metro Cup. Play over course of fall and spring with finals in Early June. Only 3 extra games for most teams in fall and again in spring.  Could also have a tier down bracket with top area teams from CCL, NPL, NCSL, ODSL, and ASL squaring off. Same format. [/quote]

Not sure why you provided this response if your kid doesnt play for the 05 team. How do you know of their improvements?  You seem to be familiar with the team. Were you ever part of the 05 team? [/quote]

I looked at their game scores and talked to some parents and players from the team that I know. I’ve also seen them practice over at Arrowbrook and listened to their coaches. I did say “starting to take hold,” not “complete.”  [/quote]

Why were you watching them practice if you aren't a Spirit parent?  There is nothing over there that would bring you casually over to Arrowbrook. [/quote]
