Yes, WS practices at Arrowbrook. In the fall it was Wed. nights. They also practice at Lake Fairfax. No, it’s not BS. I could spell it out for you, but it’s more fun to see how you can’t quite figure out how someone may not be on a team, but still know something about them. Anyhow, go ahead and stick with McLean ECNL. It’s a traditionally good program. Nadir and Clyde are very good coaches. Just try to refrain from bashing other teams that you clearly have little information about. Or not. It’s your choice. It’s a free forum.

Does WS ever practice at Arrowbrook? Not to my knowledge.

Not sure when WS practices there, but Herndon Soccer does practice at Arrowbrook.

While the 05 Spirit have lost a number of games, their results are improving over time. Appears their development strategy is starting to take hold. And no, my kid doesn’t play for them nor am I a coach for them.

It’s too bad area’s ECNL, DA, and top EDP teams don’t play each other. I’d like to see an 05G DC metro round robin with Bethesda ECNL, Pipeline/Wash. Spirit-MD, Montgomery Rush Coyotes, McLean ECNL, VDA ECNL, FCV DA, and Wash. Spirit VA DA. Loudoun and BRYC in this age and gender are not very good, so they sit this one out. Two groups of 4. Play each other twice, home and away. Then take top 2 and play finals. Call it the Metro Cup. Play over course of fall and spring with finals in Early June. Only 3 extra games for most teams in fall and again in spring. Could also have a tier down bracket with top area teams from CCL, NPL, NCSL, ODSL, and ASL squaring off. Same format.

Not sure why you provided this response if your kid doesnt play for the 05 team. How do you know of their improvements? You seem to be familiar with the team. Were you ever part of the 05 team?

I looked at their game scores and talked to some parents and players from the team that I know. I’ve also seen them practice over at Arrowbrook and listened to their coaches. I did say “starting to take hold,” not “complete.”

Why were you watching them practice if you aren't a Spirit parent? There is nothing over there that would bring you casually over to Arrowbrook.

Your BS finally meter going off?

Can somebody rank the best 05 teams in the area please

The McLean 06 - Bryc 06 trashing is the work of 2 or 3 Spirit parent- recruiters attempting to cause players to flee for Spirit. They are attempting to steer the narrative so you believe the sky is falling. The title of this thread says it all. They did it to McLean 05 last year....and McLean 05 is apparently better for it.

It appears that it is more like the results are showing that the sky is falling. As you said, the post says (asks) it all: 'Should McLean pre-ECNL players consider other clubs...' The reality is 'it depends'. McLean just lost to BRYC 6-0 this past weekend. They have lost their mystique (as the only 'elite' club in town). If a current u12 is 'elite-worthy'--they should be exploring any/all option (including Arlington, FCV, BRYC, Spirit, Bethesda, VDA, etc). This isn't about 'Spirit recruiting'--it's about alternative options to the sinking ship called McLean.

The thread is called: Should McLean Pre-ECNL players consider Spirit DA?

McLean is a sinking ship? Let me guess, Spirit is the rising ship with their 1-453 record? You think the grass is greener?

Thread should be called: Should McLean 06 players consider BRYC 06.

Or does that not fit your narrative?

Sorry, I misread the post as pre-ECNL players (current u12). I don't think there are any good players left on the 06s to transfer. Apparently they already did.

I think it depends. McLean isn’t exactly taking care of their own. The “coach of the year” should’ve gotten the “recruiter of the year” award instead.

VDA thought the same.

Spirit VA parents hanging their hat on a preseason game where they were flat dominated and grabbed a lucky goal.

Instead of attacking Spirit VA, why not spend that time brushing up on what comfortably means?

VDA did not comfortably beat Spirit VA.

From the ECNL website, McLean has not comfortably beat VDA at all.

Why does it stand to reason that McLean 05 would comfortably beat WSVA?

Where does your logic come from fr that argument?

Because they’re better teams. Way better.

Let me guess, last year your DD was McLean 05 not ECNL, this year she is ECNL.

McLean coach better than Spirit recruiter
