In fact, he can issue pardons now for crimes they might have committed. But, there is a wrinkle. If you accept a pardon you are admitting you committed the crime for which you are being pardoned. And that can be used as evidence of guilt if you are tried by the state for a crime with all of some of the elements of the federal crime. . So you could actually end up in a worse situation, depending on what your federal crime is. And realistically, if you care going to serve time, you want Club Fed, not the sate penitentiary. So, the pardon can happen. But it might be a bad idea. If it were me, I would make the Feds convict me before I took a pardon and admitted guilt. [/quote]
