Do you know anything about the history of performing arts?  Just because entertainment has been depoliticized, it does not mean that there isn't a long history throughout civilization of using it for such.

I think Trump and Pence are going to have to get used to these kinds of "attacks", because so much of the arts community does not support them.  Maybe that's more evidence of their elitism, but there you go.  I also don't think the language used in this statement was particularly offensive.  I'm surprised by it, but in a capitalist democracy it is their right to use the platform afforded by their financial privilege.  Some people will boycott them over this, but they obviously don't care.[/quote]
