We’ve started shopping at Walmart but not because of the boycot. Walmart has really upped their game. Stores are bright and clean with a lot of staff around. Target always seems to be understaffed. They don’t have as much stuff and are generally more expensive. Their self checkout lines are limited compared to the rows and rows at Walmart. 5 years ago we always shopped at Target to avoid the “people of Walmart.” Now, I see all types of SES at Walmart. It’s a perfect storm against Target. Boycott and economic influences affecting people’s behavior.
You must have an upscale Walmart. Our is will very low SES. We stock up once a year on cleaners/household products/OTC meds and get the hell out.
Some of them are quite nice actually and a lot of them are being upgraded. If it’s in a rougher area the annoying thing is all of the makeup is locked up. But it’s cheaper than target and has a larger food section and overall more necessities. Their autocare section is larger than target, and I have noticed that they have more “working clothes” than target, think work boots and nonslip shoes. If the economy goes down the drain we will all end up there.
