Not every student pays full fare at Yale, or any Ivy for that matter.  In 2021 54% of first-year students received need-based financial aid at Yale.  Going to Yale, Harvard, Princeton, etc. can be life changing and would be tough to pass up for anyone.[/quote]

It’s a matter of personal preference. Some families prioritize degrees over tuition as they see as investment with great turn; others may think differently. You are free to decide for your own but do not judge how others prioritize.

I can almost guarantee you these kids will not be buried in loans. Their parents have been playing for private schools and will probably cover 4 more years. Some of the hs tuitions are just as much as Ivy. [/quote]

Nothing local is close to Ivy level tuition. The Ivy's range from 80 to 90K. The most expensive DC schools (ex. Episcopal, which includes boarding), the most expensive area private schools are about 55K. [/quote]
