I do not think adding housing decreases the cost of housing/rent in Alexandria.  Alexandria has added 5898 units in the last five years.  There was just a protest outside Potomac West Apartments because they are increasing rent.  The cost of housing has steadily risen despite almost 6000 new units.  [/quote]
