This came up on another thread, but for those in the know there is a fairly strong consensus: 1. True Ivies (Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, Columbia, Dartmouth) 2. Public Ivies (Cornell, Penn State, Notre Dame, Cal, UVA, UT, Michigan, Wash. U, Northwestern, NYU) 3. Legitimate SLACs (Williams, Amherst) 4. High-End Trade Schools (MIT, Cal. Tech, Georgia Tech, Duke, Chicago) After that you might as well save your money.
This is a ridiculous list that omits so many prestigious schools (UPenn? Brown? Georgetown? Johns Hopkins? Rice? Vanderbilt?) and you are clearly not in the know. FYI - Stanford is not an Ivy, Notre Dame/WashU/Northwestern/NYU are not public schools so cannot be "public ivies" and no college is really equivalent to a trade school but Duke and UChicago are absolutely not any kind of trade school.
