Office Amy at Churchill was an asset to the community. She was a Churchill grad this very vested in the school. I had many many opportunities to see her in action with the kids. She knew them all. She sought out the lonely and alone and was able to intervene with kids before things got bad because she knew them so well. I cannot speak for other SROs.
It was the same for most SROs in most HSs - they were an asset, and the Principals agree. I stand by my earlier statement: a vocal minority got rid of the SROs to the detromwnt of all
Yes, a vocal minority of right-wing authoritarians want SROs back in school. Everybody else who has been paying attention to the news these past 30 years knows better.
Take a look at the PGCPS data posted above, which negates your comment. I am not remotely a right-wing authoritarian. I’m a concerned parent who wants every possible measure in place.
DP here. Just ignore the anti-SRO poster who keeps saying anything to promote their agenda. No matter what data and facts we show them, they will say whatever non-sensical thing they can to sacrifice the safety of schools in order to defend criminals and offenders. They should just be called pro-criminals at this point.
