+1. I really think they should have stuck closer to the book. Edwina could have scandalized everyone by running of with her commoner and both she and Kate could find true love.

On the subject of beauty. From a casting perspective, I think the actress who plays Kate is prettier than the actress who played Edwina, but I think they are both beautiful women. I didn't understand why the screenwriter didn't have more characters commenting on Edwina's extraordinary beauty (both men and women). I think it would have made her being "the diamond" make more sense.

My only other beef with this season, was I had trouble staying in the fantasy of it. It made no sense to me that Eloise and Penelope are able to run around all over town unchaperoned. This would never have happened, EVER. I enjoy the narration of lady whistledown, but, they really don't need to go into this kind of detail of how Penelope pulls it off, or have Eloise running around town to "investigate". [/quote]
