There would be very little reason to do summer swim then.  And club swimmers will probably opt out if they can have real meets elsewhere.  Swimming against someone makes for improvements. [/quote]

Agree with you that there is little point in doing swim season with virtual meets.  The whole point of summer swimming, IMO, is the team aspects.  Cheering on your teammates, yelling at the 8U anchor legs at the end of the meet to make up the difference, pep rallies, etc.. Take away all that and replace it with time trials every week, what’s the point?  Just cancel it again.  [/quote]

I agree. I imagine that half of the kids wouldn't participate. PVS has done a great job of holding meets. It can be done safely. it just takes planning. [/quote]
