This show is just abysmal.
Thank you! I can't understand the bevy of posters that liked this crap! And I love, love, love Pride and Prejudice.
There are plenty of popular shows that are akin to watching paint dry. They're still crazy popular. The Office is one such example. Something out there for everyone, you know?
Friends is another example.
It's escapism, similarly to Bridgerton. Very pretty people living seemingly perfect, beautifully styled lives. Is it all quality TV? No, but is what really what we're looking for?
I like balance. I try to eat nutritiously and with an eye toward weight loss, managing my IBD and migraines, and hopefully avoiding onset of certain diseases (cancer, CVD, diabetes). But sometimes I also enjoy a fast food meal, alcohol, or candy. A lot of the shows and movies like The Tudors, Reign, the Spanish Princess, and The Other Boleyn Girl took liberties with historical personages and events, but posters rave about them. Somehow, they manage to suspend disbelief even when we know from history class that things played out differently. No one thinks such shows substitute for a history textbook or documentary.
