No choice because trump called Schumers shutdown bluff by cutting off communication on Friday.  Trump made it clear to both schumer and McConnell that undoing the shut down was non negotiable.  McConnell couldn't make any specific promises about daca because trump is keeping everyone guessing. McConnell even complained about that publicly.  Whatbdoes trump want?  As much as he can get by keeping Congress guessing, which he will continue to do.  Schumer has already conceded every major deal point including a wall of some sort.  And now they know the far left 16 dems who voted against the cr and we're most likely the impetus Goethe.schumer shutdown are irrelevant because they were able to get 81 for the cr but really only need maybe 60ish to make it Bi partisan. McConnell and schumer will distribute some pork to solidify the vote but it's probably already a done deal.  McConnell and schumer just need to keep their troops in line between now and Feb. 8.
