Not really. Chantilly is moving 333 kids to Skyview and another 309 to Westfield. 639 kids. Time for Centreville to contribute something more than 77 kids, especially since the final scenario has it still at 104% capacity. Then, we can kill two birds with one stone and scale back this massive renovation/misuse of taxpayer dollars there while we are at it. [/quote]

Centreville is below the 105% capacity that FCPS treated as a threshold for possible adjustments in the county-wide review.  I say "possible adjustments" because they left at least one high school over 105% untouched.

Also, CVHS's renovation and expansion has been in the CIP for years. They can take another look at the scope, but CVHS deserves to have a building capacity in line with other schools.  Not really a radical idea.

A 2000 student building capacity is completely in the normal range for FCPS HS. There is nothing unusual about it whatsoever.

Here's Sully complaining that CVHS has "hundreds" more students than it was built for and that they are many years away from any new building. I guess she would support sending some of those kids over to the empty seats at Westfield.

BS.  Centreville currently is at the bottom or near bottom of capacities for FCPS high schools.  You're entitled to your own opinions, but not your own facts.

NP-If they are leaving 800 seats open at WF adjacent to Centreville, there is no need for a much larger school in that part of the county. No clue if 2000 is average but there are many schols in FCPS around that size. [/quote]

A sensible school system would want detailed projections on how many students their new affordable housing project / redevelopment is going to yield before making a final decision on whether to expand Centreville and if so, by how many seats. Its clear there is absolutely no need for seats today in 2026 given all the extra space in the area.[/quote]
