It seems likely midterms will be terrible for Republicans. They'll lose the House and probably the Senate. I think they will move quickly to the post-Trump era. They have to. And nothing good ever happens with those who choose to associate with Trump. Vance and Little Marco will go down with the ship. Democrats should be concerned about other candidates. I think Brian Kemp and Ron DeSantis are going to run. I think MJT is going to run. Perhaps Glenn Youngkin and Tim Scott. Maybe Tucker Carlson. None of these people are damaged by the Trump brand. 2028 is not going to be the election cakewalk that most Democrats think it's going to be. The Democratic brand remains in the gutter. It'll be a real race. Which is why getting a good candidate who can win the battleground states is so important.
Bold are both false. Let’s take a look at the candidates you listed as concerning to Dems. Brian Kemp isn’t running. His refusal to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia has killed any chance and he knows it. Can’t find the quote, but claims he’s not interested in being a career politician and values time with his family after two terms as governor. He passed on a 2026 Senate run. Proof that he’s tapped out. Q Ron DeSantis is term-limited and leaves office in January 2027. Is he going to miraculously transform into brains, brawn, and balls? His 2024 campaign was awful and embarrassing. Zero charisma. Just flat. He stole $35 million in taxpayer money that funded child welfare and Floridians in significant need. Instead, he paid political consultants, lawyers and funded thousands of advertisements to brainwash voters and win elections. He’s still fighting the courts on 5 legal issues and 1 for fun 1. Immigration 2. Alligator Alcatraz 3. Misuse of funds diverting millions of dollars to block opposing ballot initiatives 4. “Don't Say Gay” law/Disney 5. Legislative defiance 6. White rubber rain boots (anyone notice the boots on the wrong feet) MTG history is an absolute disaster. 90% of her time in office was spent as a conspiracy theorist. She found the right moment to do a short stint revenge tour against Trump because he blocked her from pursuing a Senate seat in Georgia. Hopped on the Epstein victim bandwagon to regain relevancy. She trashed Trump for a hot minute. She resigned before he could fire her. MAGA won’t vote for a traitor. Glenn Younkin failed to secure key legislative victories in his own state. He won in 2021, but lost the Virginia House of Delegates. He’ll be an awful arbiter at repairing relationships with our allies. This is a big effing deal! He’s a local yokel. Tim Scott ran his 2024 campaign willy nilly. Did he know the assignment? He withdrew fairly early on. Tucker Carlson has no political experience. He was a Fox MSM mouthpiece a second ago. Flipped on Trump just recently. He loses MAGA on the traitor platform. Plus he’s a Chad. None of them hold a candle to the likes of Harris, Ossoff, Buttigieg, Murphy, Newsom, AOC, Pritzker, Kelly, Beshar, and more for sure…
