Then you're not looking hard enough. You say you're not in DC, so where are you? Because I've checked humane societies and regional shelters in multiple states and the longest wait I've come up with is 10 days from today. So if you genuinely started at the end of August, you're doing something goofy af.

our services which is causing a long wait time.  We currently have a minimum of a 3 Year  backlog.
