She wasn't even a serious competitor in the democratic primary. Honestly her credentials are pretty light and the ones she has are problematic IMO but she was selected because of her demographics and the fact that she is pretty/photogenic. Americans are pretty shallow when it comes to voting for politicians. [/quote]

I've never seen her in real life but the bolded is 100% true unfortunately.  I hope as a country we can get past the racism and colorism that plagues us. I would have liked to see more from Val Demings as a VP candidate but I figured it wouldn't happen this time around for just that reason. [/quote]
