She doesn't even understand what they were saying. They did not literally mean she did not need to...they meant, this is not going to land well and you are not correctly reading the public sentiment correctly at this point in time. You are failing to see something, you are not understanding. She just does not get it. And quite frankly, living with someone like this is a misery. There is no real  mutuality, it's her show.
