The band was on stage. Gunmen came in the front, complete opposite side of building. Band escaped out back. Some of their crew still missing.

This. If you watch CNN there is a journalist named Julien Pearce who was at the show and he says he was able to escape because he was at the front of the stage and just bolted out the backstage door, which was the closest exit.  He said the venue held close to 1000 people ( so think a small 9:30 club or the Fillmore), and that it was packed with people, and in his opinion was probably over sold or over capacity.  Gunmen came in through the front.  So the only way out was to get out the back or to hide. He said he was able to run out the back when he heard the gunmen reloading. That they were just there randomly shooting people, there was no planned hostage demands, etc.  They didn't even talk to the people.[/quote]
