Ugh, I found Barney’s wife to be seriously selfish and overly materialistic.  I liked Mel but was so tired of Nick - glad they broke up.

One thing I like about Jon Hamm is the way he plays a father - without having any kids of his own.  He’s very believable in that role.[/quote]

Given his inner monologue in show and how meaningfully he talks with his ex wife, father, and kids, he seems emotionally mature and decent communication. This of course is at odds with a work addict father who pushed his wife and kids away for years of focusing only on work. He would have been more self aware of the damage he was causing, as he is now. [/quote]
