The answer is that about 1 in 10 semifinalists belong in that group. [/quote] If you look at the tables there are a lot of scores under 1520 that are 99%ile+ (the + is literally in the table). So very very few. My child got 1500 as a Sophomore and said he only knew of one other kid who did better in his grade at a pretty high performing school. Of course that doesn't mean there aren't more, but it's not a ton of kids getting 1520. I think the higher scores in 10th don't always translate to improvements in 11th because it can be the result of a lucky set. We'll see![/quote]
