The interviewer was there specifically to discuss the fashion in a period film. So Lively getting upset that the first question was about the film's costuming makes NO SENSE. It was not a general interest interview about the project. It was a fashion reporter who was there to discuss the fashion in the movie. When Lively says "would you ask the male actors about this" and the reporter says "yes" -- that was an honest and true answer. She's there to discuss the fashion in a movie with fantastic fashion (and which was otherwise not a particularly interesting or memorable movie). Lively was totally out of line on that.

Also the idea of an actress trying to take a feminist stand against another woman while promoting a Woody Allen movie is ironic at best and offensive at worst. Would Lively have preferred that the interviewer ignore her pregnancy but ask her how she can work with someone who has such a sketchy history in his treatment of women both professionally and in his personal life? Fixating on the "little bump" comment while ignoring that is crazy to me. I don't get being on Lively's side here even if you are very sensitive to how women's bodies are discussed. Allen is a freaking pedophile.[/quote]

Well said. Lively congratulated the reporter on her little bump when she wasn't even pregnant. That was a very catty overreaction to what's at worst a non-malicious mild annoyance.[/quote]
