This is the same family as the white people who jumped the broom. Now the broom jumping husband is in the NYT justifying having an affair because his wife has Alzheimer’s. “In sickness” unless you’re rich and your girlfriend is, too. Selfish rich people.
Where did you see this? I am curious to read it.
Start a new thread. This one is about the NYT piece and the parties involved there.
For those who were interested like me, here's a gift link to the article. I think he is Belle's brother-in-law? A Family Dinner With My Wife and Girlfriend https://www.nytimes.com/2024/02/23/style/modern-love-alzheimers-family-dinner-with-my-wife-and-girlfriend.html?unlocked_article_code=1.YU0.Q1y8.nnBrKz8HdIaX&smid=nytcore-android-share
They married in 2002 when they were late 30s so they were only married a dozen years before she was diagnosed. I'd been picturing them getting married in their early 20s and having been married for decades. Either way, it's sad all around. Horribly sad to be diagnosed so young and have no recognition of your children. No judgment here on how the husband is handling it.
DP. I don’t judge him for having an affair. I judge him for bringing the AP to dinner with his kids before wife #1 is under ground.
Huh. You are very rigid. My husband has my blessing one hundred times over to move in a girlfriend in the event that I become intellectually incapacitated.
I wouldn’t want my husband to write a column about it, especially before I died. The indignity of Alzheimer’s is bad enough. Maybe that’s what is making me feel less than sympathetic.
